Last year’s cover girl Kate Upton didn’t make it to the front on the just published 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
However, the buxom blond bombshell was in a coveted place within
publication, nevertheless, as the first swimsuit model to complete a
zero gravity photo shoot. With photographer James Macari,
photo assistants, videographers and make-up artists in tow, Upton &
Co. went aboard G-Force One, a modified Boeing 727 from ZERO-G Corp.,
for the shoot. During a series of parabolas maneuvers at 34,000 feet,
weightlessness occurs, though for 20-30 seconds only. Like Terry Richardson’s video of Upton doing catdaddy, the zero gravity experience and captured moments have already went viral on the web. It even spawn an Internet meme, #KateUptonInSpace. For all the images and behind the scenes look, visit Sports Illustrated Swimsuit site at swimsuit.si.com.
